Train trip along the Death Railway and Bridge over the River Kwai

Riding this famous railway is a unique experience and one of the main tourist attractions. The train is authentic, the carriages are basic with wooden seats and open windows serve for cooling.
One of the highlights of the trip is when the train passes over a series of sparse wooden bridges with some beams dating back to
World War 2 ! A great adventure, not to be missed.

Disco-raft cruises

Kanchanaburi is well known for parties on disco rafts which are towed up and down the river by original Thai long-tail boats.
Competition is fierce amongst raft owners to have the biggest, brightest and most attractive raft on the river. Most rafts consist a large covered room with tables and seating, along with a small kitchen and serving area, as well as bathroom facilities. Some have two stories and are closer in style to house-boat.
Big raft parties are organized every week-end and are popular with Bangkok residents who come here to relax and have fun on the water with their friends and families. The parties often revolve around karaoke singing, and it can be fun to watch the action from the various floating restaurants along the shoreline.
